About the role

Senior-level AI/ML engineer focused on applied AI and customer-facing engineering to help customers adopt Bonsai models and platform technologies. Design solution architectures, build prototypes, integrate AI into customer environments, and collaborate with product, engineering, sales, and GTM teams to translate business problems into AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Working directly with prospective and existing customers to understand business challenges and translate them into AI solutions
  • Designing solution architectures that integrate Bonsai models with customer applications, APIs, data sources, and existing infrastructure
  • Building prototypes and proof-of-concepts that demonstrate the value of Bonsai models for customer use cases
  • Collaborating closely with product, engineering, sales, and go-to-market teams throughout the customer engagement lifecycle
  • Gathering customer feedback and translating field learnings into product improvements and engineering priorities
  • Helping develop reusable solution patterns, implementation guides, and best practices for future customer deployments

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, solutions engineering, or related fields
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience building production-quality software systems
  • Hands-on experience building AI/ML applications using LLMs or multimodal models
  • 3-5+ years of experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders to gather requirements, lead technical discussions, and deliver AI solutions
  • Ability to independently lead customer engagements, balancing technical validation with rapid prototyping and solution development
  • Experience designing APIs, integrating cloud services, and building end-to-end software solutions
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern software architectures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams
