About the role

Data Center Construction Project Manager responsible for leading development and delivery of mission-critical data center construction projects within a US-based portfolio, coordinating with Real Estate, Legal, Design, EH&S, Energy, Construction, Network, and Data Center Engineering & Operations to deliver energy-efficient facilities and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of development for data center construction projects, including equipment upgrades and modifications within live production environments.
  • Coordinate with project partners from multiple teams to bring projects to fruition.
  • Lead multiple projects in parallel, including new construction and live environment upgrades.
  • Represent Apple’s interests at meetings with Consultants, General Contractors, and Suppliers.
  • Meet with internal strategic engineering groups, operations and business units to determine detailed project requirements.
  • Drive internal and external partners to meet deadlines per project delivery schedule.
  • Build and maintain project budget, including securing internal approvals for capital funding.
  • Lead General Contractors, conduct competitive bidding and negotiations.
  • Review contracts and terms related to costing and deliverables.
  • Review proposals and change orders; prepare and present cost analyses.
  • Oversee commissioning agents and review sequence of operations and test scripts.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years demonstrated ability as a data center construction project manager (mission-critical, critical facilities, Semiconductor or similar).
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Experience leading and supporting architects, engineers, and other specialty consultants from programming to construction completion.
  • Strong background in data center/commercial/industrial/mission critical construction including MEP, tenant improvement TI, site work and ground up construction.
  • Skilled in reading design and construction drawings for all fields.
  • Experience with power or utility infrastructure, including coordination of local utilities to site.
