About the role

iOS and macOS engineer on the Automations and Shortcuts, Proactive Intelligence team, focused on developing and integrating Automations (Home and HomeKit) and on-device intelligence across Apple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Automations features with a focus on Home and HomeKit integration
  • Build complex, performant systems that integrate deeply with the OS and hardware
  • Collaborate with teams across Apple to deliver cohesive, proactive experiences
  • Contribute across the full feature stack from architecture and implementation to bug fixes and system design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience building software applications in Objective-C or Swift
  • Skilled communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience building and maintaining complex, performant systems that integrate deeply with the OS and hardware
  • Passion for the Home and HomeKit ecosystem and the future of intelligent automation
  • Focus on software architecture that is robust, performant, and maintainable
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional environment, solving problems that span multiple systems
  • Ability to take ownership guiding existing products, anticipating issues, and driving early-stage development of new capabilities
  • Familiarity with tools such as Xcode, lldb, Instruments, and Claude Code, paired with an eye for detail and quality
