About the role

In the Apple Home group, develop hardware systems with complex hardware, sensors, and software for Home products. Role focuses on defining electrical system architectures, hands-on hardware bring-up, debug, prototyping, and bringing designs to production within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of electrical architecture and implementation
  • Schematic creation and layout responsibility
  • Bringup and debug hardware validation
  • Prototyping proof of concepts
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to develop and integrate hardware systems
  • Independent precise detail design along with high-level system understanding
  • Excellent communication and leadership in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

  • BS in electrical engineering or computer engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience focusing on hardware system design
  • Excellent EE fundamentals and analog design knowledge (DC/DC, power, signal integrity, SPICE simulations)
  • Strong experience in electrical design (component selection, circuit design, schematic capture, PCB/flex layout)
  • Knowledge of embedded processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, CAN, SPI, storage, high-speed serial)
  • Strong working knowledge of PCB/flex layout best practices
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeters, etc.) for prototype bring-up, debugging, and validation
  • Ability to stay organized, meet timelines, produce high-quality deliverables
  • Experience taking designs from concept to mass production in consumer electronics
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities (written and verbal)
