About the role

Parametric is building autonomous robots to automate physical labor; the Mechatronics Engineer will own the electrical architecture of Parametric's mobile manipulation platform, focusing on power, wiring, and buses to tie actuators, sensors, and compute into a working robot, with bring-up and validation code.

Responsibilities

  • Own the power system of a mobile robot
  • Design electronics layout, harnessing, and cable routing for systems that move
  • Integrate actuators, sensors, and compute
  • Write bring-up, validation, and diagnostic code for the hardware you build
  • Debug electromechanical issues at the bench and on the robot
  • Work with vendors as we move toward production

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in robotics or electromechanical systems, with ownership of electrical architecture on a fielded system
  • Experience integrating motor controllers, encoders, and sensors on real hardware
  • Ability to write the code that brings hardware up and proves it works

About Parametric

Robots for frontline physical labor — starting with laundry

Existing robots learn generic averages from massive datasets. Our robots learn from customer feedback. We solve the RL feedback loop for robotics, allowing our robots to learn from your specific standards via an automated reward pipeline that combines customer feedback with an intelligent judge model. This is the only way to capture the multi-trillion dollar “long tail” of unique, high-aggregate-value business tasks.
