Technical Founder's Associate (Berlin, on-site)

About the role
Hands-on role directly with founders in Berlin, combining quantitative/economic analysis with practical hardware work in heavy industry automation.
Responsibilities
- Own high-priority projects end to end on behalf of the founders, from customer pilots and field deployments to internal tooling and process automation.
- Get hands-on with hardware – preparing and assembling sensor and compute kits, moving machines and equipment, and supporting installation, testing, and demos on-site.
- Build the analysis behind key decisions – unit economics, pricing, market sizing, and machine performance data – pulling and cleaning the data yourself.
- Prepare material for investors, grant programmes, and customers, and work across engineering, commercial, and operations teams to unblock execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field – a combination of the above is ideal.
- Working knowledge of German, and interest in customers in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
- Able to ship working software with AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor – scripts, prototypes, and automations – with enough Python and SQL to review, debug, and trust what comes out.
- Valid category B driving licence, and willingness to drive to customer sites, transport equipment, and move machines and hardware.
- Evidence of getting things done without supervision – a startup, a side project, a student venture, or a demanding internship.
- Based in Berlin (or willing to relocate), happy to work on-site, and comfortable spending time in a workshop and around heavy machinery in operation.
