About the role

Founding hardware role at Servo7, a YC-funded robotics startup building AI-powered container unloading robots. Located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Full-time position for a hands-on hardware engineer with ownership of mechanical aspects of the robot and cross-functional collaboration with AI and software teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype new parts and subsystems in and around the robot (a lot of different moving machines working together)
  • Design the hardware for manufacturing, serviceability and safety
  • Select and integrate off-the-shelf components (actuators, pneumatics, sensors, structural elements) and know when to build versus buy
  • Build test rigs and run experiments to validate designs against real container-unloading conditions
  • Work with AI and software teams to make sure all systems fit together cleanly

Qualifications

  • You've taken robots/machines from first sketch to a working system in the real world (in production)
  • Strong CAD skills and a track record of parts you've designed, built and iterated on
  • Proven experience across prototyping methods (3D printing, machining, off-the-shelf sourcing)
  • Bias for building and testing over polishing in isolation
  • Wants to work in a startup: hands-on in deployment and debugging

About Servo7

Robots that 10x manual industry work

You’re wasting millions of dollars on custom industry robots that take months to implement. Today, robotic automation means redesigning your entire facility for the robot to work. You need to change the floor plan, adjust conveyor belts, and re-educate your staff. This is inefficient and unnecessary. With Servo7, you don’t have to do any of that. Automating with Servo7 is simple and fast, because our robots: 1) Deploy in existing operations 2) Learn from simple demonstrations 3) Keep improving on the job We have previously worked on autonomous defense systems, LLMs, autonomous driving, and hyperloops. Not just in the lab, but actually deploying them in the field. We’re already working with warehouses to automate their fulfillment. If you work in assembly, manufacturing, or logistics, email founders@servo7.com. We're onboarding our next partners now.
