About the role

Engineer role focusing on panel process, thin film and panel integration to develop new display technology and architectures for Apple products. Lead optimization of TFT/panel manufacturing processes, explore new materials, perform modeling/simulation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Implement new materials and advanced process development for high performance display panels into Apple products, including field tests, simulation, and panel validation from concept to productivity verification.
  • Oversee and co-develop equipment used in Thin Film, Photo Lithography, or Etching processes to fulfill development of advanced displays.
  • Lead optimization of the TFT & panel manufacturing process for future products.
  • Explore new materials and technology by working with vendors and Apple in-region teams.
  • Conduct numerical modeling, mechanical simulation, device simulation with FEA or TCAD for product design, optimization, and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with Apple HQ cross-functional teams in California and Apple industrial partners in Asia to develop panels & TFT devices for Apple products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Background for TFT or MOSFET device physics
  • Experience in TFT/MOSFET process and its fab operation or R&D activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills
  • Experience with flat panel displays
  • Background with Metal Oxide, LTPS device physics and modeling (TCAD, SPICE)
  • Self-motivated and willing to take challenges to explore new fields
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the country or internationally
