About the role

Software engineer to build and integrate system software for data center workloads, focusing on hardware-accelerated machine learning and high-performance computing. Develops runtime libraries, frameworks, and daemons; collaborates across Apple to adapt and scale software on a novel compute platform and contribute to next-generation cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with architecture, platform design and software teams to develop and integrate hardware, software and services.
  • Build and maintain system infrastructure that powers next generation of data centers.
  • Ensure high quality and agility with unit tests, integration tests and performance tests.
  • Contribute to software design, feature development, maintenance, and bug fixes.
  • Communicate effectively across teams and at multiple levels of abstraction.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in one of C/C++, Objective-C
  • Passion for software architecture, APIs, and high performance extensible software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Creative, collaborative, and product-focused
  • Comfortable diving deep across multiple levels of abstraction
  • Good grasp of system integration and management (configuration management, software deployment, OTA)
  • Experience with cloud orchestration engines such as Kubernetes, Nomad, Apache Mesos, or similar
  • Good understanding of microservice topologies and deployment patterns in the cloud and/or edge
  • Experience with Swift, Objective-C and Apple development tools
  • Knowledge of OS architecture, and low-level system components.
