About the role

Software Engineer role focused on building and maintaining a scalable, highly concurrent ML/AI serving platform (Decision Automation Platform) to train, deploy, and infer models at scale, supporting fraud prevention and operations for multiple Apple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement large-scale, secure, and highly available systems
  • Collaborate across teams to drive the future of scalable inference platform
  • Work with cross functional teams to drive requirements, size scope and effort
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Lead projects to completion and provide production issue support
  • Process thousands of transactions per second while balancing consistency and performance
  • Debug complex cross-platform issues and optimize performance in distributed systems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of Python or Java experience building production applications
  • Solid understanding of concurrency, threading, multiprocessing and trade-offs in high-throughput production systems
  • Strong understanding of language internals and implications in highly concurrent systems
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms)
  • Proficiency in profiling, optimizing, debugging applications and libraries
  • Understanding of distributed systems to debug cross-platform issues and optimize performance
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills on technical and non-technical topics
  • Deep knowledge of ML/AI frameworks and ecosystem
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies (Kubernetes, CNCF technologies)
  • Ability to debug and improve ML workflow tuning for high accuracy
  • Knowledge of using GenAI to build productivity solutions for developers, users, and business
  • Ability to work independently and drive problems to closure (design proposals to root-cause analysis of production issues)
