About the role

Software engineer role focused on building a secure Perception Systems software architecture for Apple platforms, enabling multi-modal awareness from cameras, microphones, and other sensors, with an emphasis on privacy and security. Responsibilities include developing an algorithm execution runtime, real-time algorithms for sensor data, and a system framework with APIs that integrate with other components and applications across future Apple products.

Responsibilities

  • - Develop an algorithm execution runtime and real-time algorithms for camera, audio, and other sensors
  • - Create a corresponding system framework and APIs
  • - Integrate the new framework with other system components and applications to enable new experiences on future Apple products
  • - Ensure secure software architecture for multi-modal perception on Apple platforms
  • - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including ML algorithms, privacy and security standards

Qualifications

  • - Excellent software design/programming skills in Swift, Objective-C and/or C/C++
  • - Understanding end-to-end systems from user experience to hardware
  • - Experience with on-device ML frameworks, especially with image and video processing
  • - Ability to develop and debug multi-threaded software
  • - Proactive learning and willingness to learn new technologies
  • - Experience with speech processing or speaker diarization
  • - Experience developing and using performance tracing, profiling, logging tools
  • - BS or MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
