About the role

Senior Site Reliability Engineer responsible for designing, building, and delivering scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure for Apple's Customer Systems. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement new solutions and leverages infrastructure as code, automation, and monitoring to support high-scale Apple customer systems and AppleCare online support platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deliver highly scalable, reliable, secure cloud infrastructure powering applications and services used by Apple’s customers.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, business leaders and partners across Apple to implement new solutions.
  • Focus on infrastructure as code, automation and intelligent monitoring.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in designing and building resilient, large-scale, low latency, cloud and on-prem Infrastructure including Compute, Storage, and Network
  • 5+ years of experience with deploying & managing Kubernetes using Helm or Kustomize
  • 3+ years of experience in monitoring using Splunk or ELK stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Alertmanager
  • 3+ years of experience in Linux Shell Scripting, Python, Terraform
  • Experience in Cloud architecture, building reliable, scalable, and secure Infrastructure as Code
  • Setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines with GitOps model
  • Networking protocols: DNS, TCP, HTTP/HTTPS
  • Cassandra, MongoDB, Couchbase databases, AWS S3 or similar storage technologies
  • Deploying and supporting Java applications
  • Troubleshooting of network, system & performance issues in production during on-call rotations
  • Building automation tools to deliver infrastructure services reliably and in a repeatable fashion
  • Collaborating with distributed teams of engineers to define non-functional/technical requirements and drive implementation
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Education: BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
