Founding Engineer - Full Stack (In Person Toronto)
About the role
Founding Full-Stack Engineer at Dimely (YC S24), in-person in Toronto. Own product areas end-to-end, from customer problem to working production systems, focusing on AI-powered billing workflows, integrations with finance platforms, and end-to-end data processing.
Responsibilities
- Systems that turn contracts and order forms into structured, actionable billing data
- Validation logic that checks billing terms against business rules, CRM data, and finance systems
- AI workflows for extraction, reconciliation, exception handling, and approvals
- Integrations with NetSuite, Salesforce, QuickBooks, Rillet, Stripe, and other finance infrastructure
- Interfaces that let finance teams review exceptions, correct data, approve changes, and see exactly what Dimely did and why
- Infrastructure for workflows that may span multiple systems and require retries, idempotency, and failure recovery
- Reliability, observability, and auditability across workflows that directly affect billing and revenue
- Productizing messy, company-specific billing processes into systems that can work for hundreds of companies
Qualifications
- Ship full-stack in TypeScript, Next.js, and React
- Have built data-heavy products, workflow software, enterprise applications, or developer infrastructure
- Have worked with APIs and SDKs for systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Stripe, or similar platforms
- Can take an ambiguous customer problem and turn it into a simple, reliable product
- Move quickly without needing every problem to be fully scoped before making progress
- Care deeply about correctness, edge cases, reliability, and auditability in systems handling financial data
- Want to talk directly with customers and understand the real problem behind a feature request
- Have strong product instincts and care whether what you build is intuitive, not just technically correct
- Use AI development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot to increase speed
- Want meaningful equity and impact as an early team member
