About the role

System Experience Test Engineering team seeking a Software Engineer in Test to help test and ensure quality of Apple's operating systems across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, focusing on projects like SpringBoard and Spotlight with a mix of manual and automated testing and strong emphasis on CI/testing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a multi-functional team responsible for projects such as SpringBoard and Spotlight
  • Collaborate with software engineers, project managers and other Apple quality teams
  • Ensure next generation of Apple operating systems with high quality by providing continuous integration testing
  • Combine manual testing with automated suites to ensure scale while focusing on larger projects and UI details

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or two years of related experience substitution)
  • Three years of experience as a software engineer
  • Experience writing code in Swift or Objective C to test an API, SDK, or Frameworks
  • Experience writing and triaging automated software tests (unit-tests, regression tests, functional tests, stress tests)
  • Experience developing test plans, assessing risk, filing bugs, and consolidating bug reports
  • Experience driving development and deployment of testing tools and infrastructure
  • Experience with XCTest and Xcode
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize, propose resolutions
  • Ability to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action
  • Keen eye for detail
