About the role

Senior engineer to architect and build media management and collaboration features for creative tools (Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, iWork) as part of Apple’s Creativity Apps team. Candidates will set direction, own features from concept to delivery, and collaborate across design, QA, and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build media management and collaboration features for Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and iWork
  • Set the technical direction for new and innovative features in creative tools
  • Partner with human interface designers, QA teams, and cross-functional partners throughout the full development lifecycle
  • Drive features from concept through delivery, taking end-to-end ownership
  • Mentor other engineers and foster a culture of learning, openness, and inclusion
  • Contribute to project planning and influence decisions beyond code, including user interface direction

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience shipping high-quality, tested code on iOS and/or macOS
  • Experience as a technical lead demonstrating strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns commonly used in Apple platform development
  • Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals and object-oriented design
  • Proficiency in Swift and at least one UI framework (SwiftUI, UIKit, or AppKit)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and take full ownership of product features
  • Track record of mentoring others while remaining open to learning and asking for help
  • Commitment to fostering an open and inclusive work environment
  • Demonstrated interest in one of Apple's apps for creative pros & enthusiasts (Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, iMovie, GarageBand)
  • Experience with modern concurrency in Swift, including async / await and actors
  • Proficiency with Swift Testing and / or XCTest
  • Demonstrated commitment to accessibility and localization
