About the role

Apple’s IS&T organization seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead the eBusiness Services team, delivering innovative and scalable solutions, overseeing the full software development lifecycle, and partnering across multiple business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers and drive decisions affecting cross-functional partners.
  • Contribute to code reviews and risk assessments while staying close to the codebase.
  • Represent the team and technology in cross-functional meetings and drive solutions with IS&T, business, and external partner teams.
  • Clarify requirements and goals for cross-functional software projects.
  • Plan multi-year roadmaps, lead design, execution, and post-execution phases of software development.
  • Develop and nurture engineering talent across the team.

Qualifications

  • More than 12 years experience, at least 5 of which are in managing engineering teams.
  • Strong programming experience of 5+ years using Python or Java frameworks such as Spring.
  • Strong Middleware experience building frameworks using tools like Mulesoft, webMethods or others.
  • Strong object oriented design and analysis skills.
  • Experience with micro-services architectures and container-based deployment (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong working level experience with Oracle, Postgres or similar relational databases and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Proficiency in designing and architecting large projects including performance, scalability, robustness, and resiliency.
  • Expertise in infrastructure, dev-ops, SRE, support and QE processes.
  • Familiarity with Golang and Ruby on Rails.
  • Excellent communication, ownership, accountability, problem-solving and analytical skills.
