About the role

Hiring a Member of Technical Staff to drive LLM development across pre-training, mid-training, post-training, and evaluation, owning one or more capability domains or technical components, and leading initiatives that improve model architecture, training data, and training efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Define goals for the assigned domain and select or build benchmarks
  • Build training data aligned with goals (agentic mid-training, SFT, RL data)
  • Validate and improve data and training methods using small-scale models
  • Apply data and training recipes to the final large-scale model, verify against goals, and iterate as needed
  • Lead the initiative in the assigned area and collaborate with team members to drive LLM development across all stages

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of practical experience in machine learning / deep learning
  • Experience designing, running, and debugging multi-GPU machine learning jobs in a shared compute environment
  • Ability to break ambiguous problems into testable hypotheses and design experiments to support decisions
  • Enthusiasm for learning and taking on new challenges with quick knowledge/skill acquisition
  • Japanese: business level
