About the role

Engineering Head for the Tokyo SDS team responsible for owning technical work, bringing the L2++ stack to Japanese OEMs, and defining the team’s architecture and roadmap for L2/L4 autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a world-class group of engineers focused on building and deploying scalable behavior systems for cars
  • Own technical delivery of SDS for Japanese customers
  • Serve as the primary technical partner to Japanese OEM engineering teams
  • Define the Tokyo team's engineering roadmap in partnership with SDS teams in HQ
  • Drive the overall strategy, technical roadmap, and architecture dedicated to L2 and L4 autonomous vehicles for cars

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience building software for autonomous vehicles, robotics, or ADAS, including work that shipped
  • Strong C++ with a track record of production-quality code in safety-relevant or real-time systems
  • Depth in at least two of: perception, prediction, behavior and motion planning, control, sensor fusion, on-vehicle systems and middleware
  • Experience taking a system from prototype to on-vehicle deployment
  • Demonstrated ability to architect large-scale, production software for real-world robotic or automotive systems
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams, setting goals, and overseeing technical projects
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
