About the role

Tax Analyst in Spotify's Global Indirect Tax Team based in Stockholm, focusing on compliance and reporting for indirect taxes across more than 90 countries.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare indirect tax returns ensuring they are filed timely and accurate.
  • Calculate indirect taxes and ensure timely payments.
  • Analyze data and transactions to ensure correct reporting.
  • Assist with gathering and analyzing data for indirect tax audits and internal audits.
  • Support in monitoring Indirect Tax rules and regulations all over the world.
  • Coordinate with, and support, Finance and Accounting teams as necessary and assist in processes that involve indirect tax.
  • Assist with new tax registrations where needed.
  • Work with external service providers and foreign tax authorities.
  • Participate in process improvement projects
  • Assist in other tax compliance areas such as digital services tax.
  • Other projects as required.

Qualifications

  • University degree with relevant education such as law degree, accounting, CPA, or any combination thereof.
  • Approximately 2 years of relevant tax related work experience.
  • Experience from indirect tax compliance work on a global scale is a big plus.
  • Excellent English skills, both verbally and written. Other language skills are helpful.
  • Experience with financial systems (NetSuite) including ERPs, consolidation tools and management reporting tools.
  • Strong skills in Google suite and/or Microsoft Office including the ability to prepare robust models and the ability and desire to learn new software platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to drive work and assist with process improvements.
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently with strong initiative and flexibility.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency and quality in day-to-day work, with a willingness to explore new ways of applying them.
  • Intellectually curious, detail oriented, and eager to learn and develop every day.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment.
