About the role

Lead digital forensics for the CBP program, preserving and analyzing evidence from compromised or suspect systems, reconstructing events, and producing actionable findings for incident response, threat hunting, and insider threat monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Preserve and analyze evidence from compromised or suspect systems
  • Reconstruct what happened and produce findings for incident response, threat hunt, and insider threat monitoring
  • Produce findings that support disciplinary, legal, or law enforcement action
  • Ensure chain of custody and defensible process for findings
  • Explain technical findings to non-technical decision makers
  • Build and improve forensics capability to increase speed and reliability over time

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in incident response, insider threat investigations, digital forensics, and cyber threats
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on security monitoring experience (bare metal, cloud/virtual, network)
  • Experience with insider threat monitoring software, endpoint forensic tools, IDS, SIEM, EDR, and security operations ticket management
  • Ability to create insider threat dashboards, reports, and workflow diagrams
  • Experience with data collection, chain of custody, and incident reporting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to mentor junior members
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, STEM, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity
