About the role

Network engineers and architects with CBP-focused roles across multiple levels to design, build, and sustain mission-critical network infrastructure in a 24/7, hybrid Ashburn, VA environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and sustain network infrastructure including routing and switching, WAN and LAN transport, wireless, segmentation, and firewalls in mixed Cisco, Juniper, and Arista environments
  • Work with field deployment teams, cloud engineers, and security staff
  • Plan and execute changes in a 24/7 environment with careful change management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and update documentation to reflect actual deployments
  • Produce designs that work at remote and austere sites and ensure rollback paths are tested before cutovers
  • Maintain site reliability and ensure that outages do not disrupt mission operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Networking and Telecommunications) with 10+ years of network engineering experience or 14+ years without a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of verifiable network engineering experience supporting a large, complex Federal agency
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPNs and VLANs
  • Expertise with Cisco technology and Firewall technologies; ability to perform firewall changes
  • Hands-on experience with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI or VMware NSX
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to troubleshoot complex network issues
  • High-level technical leadership to meet project goals
