About the role

Intern/co-op position in Software Test Engineering at AMD, focused on participating in multiple phases of the software test lifecycle, both automated and manual testing, with exposure to new features, operating systems, and QA processes. Open to undergraduate students in the US with interest in PC gaming, graphics, and software quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Train to develop and complete automated and manual Test Plans/Test Case with various test strategies (Functional, Negative, Regression, customer/end user, Performance, Reliability, Usability)
  • Prioritize and manage several concurrent projects and testing tasks
  • Reproduction, troubleshooting, triaging of software defects, reporting and driving them to closure
  • Build Test Case/Plan for new features, new products (dGPU and APU) and new Operating Systems (Linux and/or Windows)
  • Share ideas to improve current processes
  • Identify metrics and measurements for various aspects of the software QA development cycle and improve efficiency

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a US-based university in a bachelor's degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Knowledge/experience in Software quality analysis process and methodology
  • PC configuration (Software and Hardware) with troubleshooting, interest in PC platform architecture
  • Programming/scripting skills like Python, VBA, C++, Selenium framework
  • Keen interest in PC gaming and latest computer graphics technologies (3D graphics concepts/API/Gaming, VR/MR, display technologies such as FreeSync/HDR, Multimedia, Compute)
  • Exposure to development/triaging/debugging in Linux and/or Windows environment
  • Exposure to databases and reporting tools
