About the role

Internship/Co-op at AMD focused on software test engineering across multiple phases of the software QA lifecycle, with opportunities to work on automated and manual testing, defect triage, and test planning for new features and operating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and complete automated and manual Test Plans/Test Cases with various strategies (Functional, Negative, Regression, customer/end user, Performance, Reliability, Usability)
  • Prioritize and manage several concurrent projects and testing tasks
  • Reproduce, troubleshoot, triage, report, and drive software defects to closure
  • Build Test Case/Plan for new features, products (dGPU and APU), and operating systems (Linux and/or Windows)
  • Collaborate with team to identify metrics and measurements for QA processes and improve efficiency
  • Share ideas to improve current processes and QA workflows

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a US-based university in a Masters degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Knowledge/experience in software quality analysis process and methodology
  • PC configuration (software/hardware) and troubleshooting; interest in PC platform architecture
  • Programming/scripting skills (Python, VBA, C++, Selenium)
  • Keen interest in PC gaming and graphics technologies (3D graphics concepts/API/Gaming, VR/MR, display technologies, multimedia, compute)
  • Experience with development/troubleshooting/debugging in Linux and/or Windows environments
  • Exposure to databases and reporting tools
