About the role

Dynamic Power Management Systems Engineer focused on post-silicon CPU/APU power management feature development (S0ix) for AMD Client and Graphics Business Unit. Responsible for feature enablement, validation, and debugging of Windows Modern Standby (S0i3) on mobile and desktop processors, from pre-silicon through customer adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client S0i3 power management enablement and validation strategies from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware, validation, and debug teams.
  • Drive S0i3 feature enablement and validation in post silicon lab environment.
  • Drive debug and resolution of S0i3 system power management issues across silicon, firmware/BIOS, and debug teams.
  • Develop and lead power management process improvement initiatives including technical test plan development, quality, and efficiency improvements.
  • Coaches and mentors junior staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred
  • Strong expertise in Windows Modern Standby (S0i3) system operation
  • Considered a technical leader in SOC power management and has a proven track record for sustained innovation
  • Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines and management
