About the role

AMD internship/co-op program for undergraduate students in software engineering. Roles include building and maintaining software applications, training on the full software development lifecycle, scripting to automate processes, debugging, and possible creation of technical/functional documents. Locations across multiple US sites with full-time (40 hours/week) hybrid or onsite work for the duration of the term.

Responsibilities

  • Assign responsibilities and work with software engineers to build and maintain software applications.
  • Provide training on the full software creation process from design to deployment.
  • Encourage scripting to automate portions of the software development process.
  • Help learn debugging methodologies to investigate root causes of software issues.
  • In some projects, involve crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a US-based university in an undergraduate degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Knowledge/experience in any of the following: software engineering concepts, C/C++ programming and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Linux shell, Perl, Java, JavaScript, UML), UNIX/Linux OS, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), cloud platforms (Azure), web frameworks (Django, Rails, Spring Boot), markup languages (HTML, XML, XSL), defect tracking, testing, debugging, Git/GitHub/Perforce, security technologies (OAuth, SSL, TLS), PC/CPU architecture, embedded systems, microcontrollers
