About the role

Guidance Navigation Control (GNC) engineering role focused on researching and developing state-of-the-art algorithms for high-performance flight in a blue-sky project. Work on an agile team grounded in first principles to push the boundaries of vehicle dynamics modeling, flight controls, and simulation.

Responsibilities

  • Work on an agile team focused on GNC algorithms for high-performance flight.
  • Research and develop state-of-the-art control systems and flight dynamics models for BlueSky project.
  • Tune and optimize control systems in simulation and real-world environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to push the boundaries of GNC technology.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • BS in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering with a focus on Control Systems
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or 4 years with a PhD; or equivalent work experience in vehicle dynamics modeling, flight controls, or simulation
  • Experience with C++ in a production environment
  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink
  • Expert knowledge of aircraft dynamics and control, stability, and handling qualities
  • Experience tuning and optimizing control systems in simulation and real-world
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Demonstrated record of working hard, strong communication skills, being a trustworthy teammate, and being kind to others
