About the role

The Applied Data Solutions Program (ADSP) Internship provides hands-on experience solving real-world problems with Apple's data infrastructure and analytics platforms. Interns work across multiple teams in machine learning engineering, software engineering, data science, and AI development, under close mentorship, to design, build, deploy scalable systems and derive data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Work side-by-side with Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Scientists to design, build, and deploy scalable, production-grade systems and tools.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
  • Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, Java, C++, or equivalent
  • Practical experience through coursework, projects, or internships in software engineering, data science, or machine learning
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, data modeling, data structures, and machine learning algorithms
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Experience with data querying tools (SQL, Spark, etc.) and extracting insights from complex, large-scale data sets
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) or cloud-based data platforms
  • Exposure to LLMs, generative AI, or applied AI product development
  • Ability to translate complex, ambiguous technical concepts into clear, business-focused solutions
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
