About the role

SDET role on Apple’s Video Apps team focusing on testing for video/photo editing tools and on-device ML/vision features. Responsible for planning, designing, executing end-to-end test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python, driving quality, and improving processes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, write, maintain and execute end-to-end test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python
  • Drive all aspects of quality and process improvements to ensure features are rock-solid and release-ready
  • Report bugs with outstanding isolation and regression techniques
  • Balance multiple deliverables and communicate progress and risks effectively
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate multi-functional test efforts

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in QA/QE
  • Minimum of 1+ years experience as a Software Engineer in Test
  • Programming in Python and/or Swift to prototype features, create test apps, and test with internal tools
  • Proficiency in testing mobile/desktop apps, and backend/APIs
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, SQA testing methodologies, terminology and processes
  • Proven bug detection, isolation, and regression skills
  • Ability to extract user scenarios from feature descriptions and requirements and translate them into test plans and cases
  • Strong familiarity with iOS and macOS
  • Applied LLMs or GenAI tooling to test generation, failure analysis, or coverage gap identification
  • BS in Computer Science or 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • Experience in digital photography and video with proficiency in editing tools for both media
  • Meticulous, analytical, methodical and creative problem solver
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency at balancing multiple efforts and meeting deadlines
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
