About the role

Networking Embedded Firmware Engineer focused on validating Apple silicon through low-level firmware, drivers, and infrastructure for SoC bring-up, post-silicon validation, and debugging. Collaborates with logic designers to ensure hardware/software integration meets performance and conformance requirements, enabling successful launches of future Apple products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop critical low-level embedded firmware to validate hardware functionality, ensure conformance, and drive performance during bring-up and testing of new silicon.
  • Design, develop, and integrate complex drivers, diagnostic tests, and infrastructure for SoC bring-up, post-silicon validation, and debugging activities.
  • Lead hands-on firmware development, system-level validation, and problem-solving at the hardware-software interface.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development within Real-Time (RT) or Embedded environments
  • Strong proficiency in C, with a deep understanding of hardware-software interaction
  • Hands-on expertise with Hardware-Software integrations, particularly for silicon validation and bring-up
  • Exceptional debugging skills at the firmware and hardware level
  • Experience in packet processing, data path, packet buffering, scheduler, networking protocols offload engine.
  • Experience in High speed protocols like PCIe, USB, Ethernet.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge of Ethernet SerDes , Media Access Control+Physical Coding Sublayer, TCP/IP, UDP, RDMA
  • Experience in Networking or switching ASIC SW development
  • Knowledge in Ethernet switching or packet processing
  • Experience with pre-silicon and post-silicon validation methodologies
  • Familiarity with CPU architectures (e.g., ARM) and low-level system programming
  • Direct experience with System-on-Chip (SoC) development or validation
