About the role

Software engineer role focused on server-side security software development in a distributed database environment within Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T), Enterprise Technology Services (ETS). Build high-quality, scalable multi-tenant applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to security features across current and future products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality, robust, and highly available software solutions
  • Work on server-side security software in a distributed database environment
  • Collaborate with partners, project managers, and cross-discipline teams to understand and capture requirements
  • Write quality code suitable for detailed audits

Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of proven experience in Java and J2EE development, including Security Engineering
  • Deep programming expertise in Java and the J2EE stack, including Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, REST API development, React.js and microservices-based design
  • Experience with PKI, X.509, ASN.1, key exchange protocols, and authentication protocols
  • Good understanding of distributed system concepts, Oracle, Kafka (assuming Kaea was a typo for Kafka), and caching
  • Strong foundation in developing and integrating ML and generative AI models
  • Experience with Linux/Unix platforms and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate well within a distributed team
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
