About the role

Site Reliability and Operations Engineer (SRE) on the ETS Platform team at Apple, focused on automating operations, optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-performing systems within enterprise technology services.

Responsibilities

  • Automate operations and optimize infrastructure in collaboration with application teams
  • Deploy, support, monitor new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks
  • Operate large fleets of diverse systems using automation/configuration tools
  • Participate in incident/problem management and RCA activities
  • Advocate for automating manual operational work through software leveraging AI/GenAI technologies
  • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and high-performing
  • Collaborate with teams to design and build reliable systems with quality in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 8-10+ years in Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role
  • Advanced experience with programming languages or scripting (Python / Bash / LUA / GoLang)
  • Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (Oracle, MongoDB)
  • Deep understanding of systems and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, release engineering, and DevOps practices
  • Experience deploying, supporting, and monitoring services, platforms, and application stacks
  • Strong understanding of Linux internals, standard networking protocols, and distributed system components
  • Experience managing and scaling distributed systems in cloud environments (public/private/hybrid)
  • Hands-on experience with automation/configuration platforms (Puppet, Ansible, Spinnaker)
  • Solid proficiency with Linux, core networking concepts (TLS/SSL, DNS, load balancers), and troubleshooting at scale
  • Understanding of security standards, cryptography, and enterprise policies
  • Experience with Incident/Problem management and RCA
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and container orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes)
  • Experience with AliCloud, AWS, or GCP preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to deliver high-quality results on time
  • Good understanding of microservices architecture and container orchestration
