About the role

Apple’s IdMS Quality Engineering group seeks a Software Development Engineer in Test to lead end-to-end quality efforts across Web, iOS, macOS and other platforms, by designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks, driving test strategies, and improving software development lifecycle quality.

Responsibilities

  • Defining, implementing, and continuously evolving automated test frameworks, monitoring CI performance, test result analysis, as well as test triage and reporting.
  • Able to identify gaps in existing test plans and close them with scalability and maintainability in mind.
  • Drive all the quality work and also be a strong advocate for quality in the overall software development process.
  • Self-motivated and dynamic individual with strong technical and communication skills who can contribute in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work with various cross functional teams to deliver high quality products.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of proven experience in Software Development/Quality Engineering
  • Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including developing and maintaining automated test libraries and tools
  • Strong programming and software design skills, preferably in Java, Swift and/or Python
  • Excellent knowledge of and experience with test methodologies ranging from functional unit tests to non-functional exploratory testing
  • Experience in building automated UI and non-UI tests for user facing applications or system frameworks. Experience with testing on iOS, macOS, Web, Android and Windows.
  • Creative problem solver with a knack for building scalable solutions in a collaborative and cross-functional space
  • Ability to proactively triage, investigate, and debug difficult technical and UX problems independently as well as collaboratively
  • BA/BS in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent experience in related field
  • Professional working proficiency or fluency in Mandarin
