About the role

Project Manager on Apple's Environmental Initiatives team to drive decarbonization of Apple’s product manufacturing at scale through engagement with environmental markets, supporting renewable energy, carbon markets, and related portfolio management for Apple and its supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive decarbonization of Apple’s product manufacturing at scale through engagement with environmental markets.
  • Support investment opportunities, market transactions and credit management for renewable energy, nature-based solutions and beyond.
  • Partner with Apple Operations, Finance and Procurement leadership to support and guide transactions in renewable energy and carbon markets.
  • Work within the Environmental Initiatives team to achieve renewable energy targets and carbon credit procurement (e.g. MWhs, MMT CO2e, date online, location, etc.).
  • Support the associated project/deal pipeline and portfolio, and sourcing/managing environmental attribute credits (EACs) and the broader portfolio management.
  • Interact with finance, tax and accounting, legal, procurement, and government affairs.
  • Work with subject matter experts in renewable energy deals and carbon markets to support deal development, transactions and fulfillment.
  • Manage portfolio assets (e.g., EACs or credits) and registries; track and prepare reports on portfolio status; support due diligence on potential partners or service providers; support access to high-quality carbon credits for supply chain actors.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supporting corporations with renewable energy and/or emission reduction solutions (e.g., voluntary carbon markets) for compliance or voluntary objectives
  • Familiarity with environmental attribute certificates in energy and carbon
  • Collaborative team player; able to support multiple projects and programs
  • Strong communicator; can convey difficult topics in simple terms
  • Occasional travel as needed
  • Experience in project finance or business development a plus
  • Experience in managing cross-functional stakeholders, negotiating strategic partnerships, and identifying high-quality investment opportunities with financial returns and climate impact (a plus)
  • Familiarity with voluntary and/or compliance carbon markets and related quality standards and policy (e.g., GHGP, ICVCM, SBTi) is helpful
