About the role

Software engineering role on the internal developer platform for Wallet, Payments and Commerce. Design, build and operate Kubernetes-native platform services and APIs, enabling teams to scaffold, deploy, and operate services with strong privacy, security and reliability. Focus on performance, reliability, testing, observability, and on-call discipline, with AI/LLM tooling integrated into development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Kubernetes-native services, controllers and APIs in Go, owning each subsystem from design review through production operation.
  • Turn complex infrastructure provisioning into simple declarative APIs, enabling application teams to describe their needs without managing underlying complexity.
  • Make the platform fast and predictable at scale, diagnose performance and correctness problems (e.g., hot loops, unbounded queues, memory growth, regional convergence).
  • Raise the engineering bar with meaningful test coverage, thoughtful code reviews, and necessary observability.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for the systems owned and implement permanent fixes or guardrails from incidents.
  • Work AI-forward by using coding agents and LLM-based tooling as part of development, ensuring correctness of outputs.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems.
  • Strong programming ability in Go (GoLang) with solid fundamentals in API design, concurrency and error handling.
  • A real testing practice capable of catching regressions.
  • Distributed systems experience including idempotency, eventual consistency, retries and partial failure; practical performance profiling and fixes.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and extensive cloud experience with at least one major cloud provider.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including design documents and incident write-ups.
