About the role

Role within the Analog & Mixed-Signal (AMS) team to design and deliver hard IPs for Apple products, focusing on SERDES, high-speed data converters, PLLs, memory interface circuits, clocking circuits, and other analog/mixed-signal designs; involved in architecture, design, mask design supervision, test planning, and cross-functional reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Own development of analog & mixed-signal circuits including SERDES, high-speed data converters, PLLs and other AMS blocks
  • Architect and design innovative analog/mixed-signal circuits with multi-functional teams
  • Drive mask design to implement layout view of designs
  • Coordinate with IP consumers
  • Help define production/bench-level test plans
  • Conduct design reviews of blocks with peers/management to ensure specs are met
  • Lead characterization data from lab and volume testing
  • Build VerilogA/AMS behavioral models and analyze characterization data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 20+ years experience
  • In-depth knowledge of analog mixed-signal concepts (mismatch mitigation, linearity, stability, low-power/low-noise)
  • Experience with high-speed digital circuits (serializer/deserializer, counters, dividers)
  • Design experience in advanced CMOS technologies such as FinFET
  • Hands-on AMS IC development from definition to high-volume production (layout supervision, bench evaluation, correlation, characterization)
  • Lab testing of mixed-signal circuits and use of spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.
  • Ability to build VerilogA/AMS behavioral models and analyze data from lab and volume testing
  • Strong drive, ability to manage complexity and deliver results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to solve cross-functional problems
  • Expertise in analog/mixed-signal blocks (ADCs, DACs, SERDES, PLLs, DLLs, filters, bandgap, biasing circuits, LDOs, amplifiers, comparators, switched-cap circuits, oscillators)
