About the role

Sarvam is hiring a Motion Designer to define and implement the brand’s motion language across films, web, and product, building a cohesive identity with motion logic, while collaborating across the company and delivering end-to-end motion work.

Responsibilities

  • Define the motion language, including timing, easing, entrances, transitions, monogram behavior, and gradient motion; create reusable systems for future assets.
  • Make films for launches, product announcements, research drops, event opens, and brand pieces; concept, board, animate, edit, sound, and deliver end-to-end.
  • Animate product motion for web, scroll behavior, UI micro-interactions, demos, and walkthrough videos; ensure motion works within live surfaces with constraints.
  • Hand off to engineering with deliverables such as Lottie, Rive, sprite sequences, or build-ready specs.
  • Visualize speech for conversational products (voice agents in 11 Indian languages) without relying on generic waveforms; convey listening, thinking, speaking, and switching.
  • Utilize AI in the motion pipeline (generative video, previz, roto, upscaling, variation) with clear trade-offs on time saved vs shot quality.
  • Collaborate across the company (design, marketing, product, research, founders) under rough briefs and hard launch dates.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in motion design (in-house or studio) with a reel showing narrative work and product/website shipping.
  • Deep After Effects skills (shape layers, expressions, proper rigging); strong editing in Premiere or Resolve.
  • Figma is essential; motion starts inside the design system.
  • Illustrator and Photoshop at working depth for asset creation and cleanup.
  • Strong fundamentals: timing, weight, staging, anticipation, and type in motion; adept easing evaluation.
  • Native fluency with AI tools in a professional motion workflow; able to articulate where AI adds value.
  • System thinking: ability to extend static identities into motion or extend motion systems beyond guidelines.
  • Clear stake in Indian design aesthetics for motion; eager to elevate Indian design in motion.
