About the role

HVAC Technician role supporting Operations, Engineering & Maintenance; install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, chillers and refrigeration; monitor environmental conditions in warehouse and labs; ensure compliance and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform System Maintenance & Repair: Regular preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment (AHUs, RTUs, condensers, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, ductwork); replace or clean HEPA filters, pre-filters, belts, motors, sensors, dampers; perform emergency maintenance.
  • Perform Environmental Control Monitoring: Maintain proper temperature, relative humidity, and differential pressure in ISO-classified spaces; respond to alarms with QA/Validation/Facilities teams.
  • Maintain Documentation & Compliance: Complete detailed maintenance logs, service reports, change records; follow SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Support for Validated Spaces: Assist in HVAC requalification, airflow visualization, and pressure balancing in cleanrooms; support environmental monitoring investigations; coordinate shutdowns, repairs, upgrades with engineers and external contractors; provide feedback and propose improvements.
  • Building Maintenance: Perform other building maintenance as assigned; ensure workspace cleanliness and safety per 5S; follow hazardous energy policies including lock-out/tag-out.
  • Fabrication: Utilize materials/tools to create custom equipment as needed.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Communicate safety risks and issues; coordinate with production to minimize disruptions; participate in improvement projects; stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old with state-required proof of age documents.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; safe lifting techniques.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Project Management tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for machinery; able to document maintenance data and contribute to process improvements.
  • Effective communication in English (Spanish bilingual preferred).
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, climb ladders and stairs (up to three flights); comfortable with heights when using lifts.
  • Collaborative; willingness to cross-train and support multiple functions.
  • Adherence to company policies including attendance, safety, confidentiality, and conflicts of interest.
  • 3+ years in maintenance, facilities, or related field; 5+ years preferred; demonstrated ability with HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, CMMS.
  • HVAC education and/or certification.
  • Knowledge of CMMS; HVAC experience in heating, cooling, airflow specs, boilers, chillers.
