About the role

Software Test Engineering internship/co-op at AMD in Markham, Ontario. Full-time onsite during the term, focusing on the software test lifecycle, automated and manual testing, and collaboration with development teams to drive defects to closure. Open to undergrad or PhD students with interest in PC gaming, graphics, Linux/Windows environments, and QA processes.

Responsibilities

  • Train to develop and complete both automated and manual Test Plans/Test Case with various test strategies including Functional testing, Negative testing, Regression Testing, customer/end user testing, Performance, Reliability and Usability
  • Prioritize and efficiently handle several concurrent projects and testing tasks
  • Reproduce, troubleshoot, triage software defects, report them, and drive them to closure
  • Build Test Case/Plan for new features, new products (dGPU and APU) and new Operating Systems (Linux and/or Windows)
  • Share ideas to improve current processes
  • Identify metrics and measurements for various aspects of the software QA development cycle and improve efficiency

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Canada-based University in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Knowledge/experience in software quality analysis process and methodology
  • PC configuration (software and hardware) with troubleshooting and interest in PC platform architecture
  • Programming/scripting skills like Python, VBA, C++, Selenium framework
  • Keen interest in PC Gaming and latest Computer Graphics technologies (3D graphics concepts/API/Gaming, VR/MR, Display technologies, Multimedia, Compute)
  • Exposure to development/Triage/Debugging in Linux and/or Windows environment
  • Exposure to Databases and Reporting tools
  • Candidates must hold a valid work authorization to be considered
