About the role

Intern/Co-Op role focused on program management within AMD’s AI/tech ecosystem. Interns collaborate with the PMO and engineering to plan, track, and improve project processes, develop schedules, and build reporting capabilities during a 12- or 16-month term in Markham, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Craft realistic schedules, project lifecycle, partner matrix, risk, issue and change tracking, and follow-up of actions items.
  • Collaborate with the AMD project management office and engineering community to drive continuous system and process improvement.
  • Track, analyze and report weekly on plans, status, and progress; drive corrective actions when required.
  • Collaborate on building requirements definition, problem resolution, team decisions, and project planning.
  • Follow up with program managers on compliance with processes and tools.
  • Train to onboard schedules in MS-Project server for program managers.
  • Help build more automated data gathering and reporting capability using data visualization tools.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Canada-based university pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field; AI/ML specialization is an asset.
  • Knowledge/experience in: software development with interest in program/project management; MS Office (Excel with Pivot Tables, Power Query, Macros; PowerPoint, Word, MS Project); data visualization (PowerBI); PC architecture; data analysis and governance; relational databases and SQL; Python for process automation; project/operations management; financial analysis and cost-tracking; JIRA.
