About the role

Intern/co-op program in Markham, Ontario, Canada for students in computer science, engineering, math, or related fields. Full-time onsite 37.5 hours/week with multiple term durations across winter, summer, and fall. Focus on program management duties, lifecycle planning, reporting, and process improvements within AMD’s project management office and engineering community.

Responsibilities

  • Craft realistic schedules, manage project lifecycle, partner matrix, conduct risk, issue, change management and follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with the AMD project management office and engineering community to support continuous system and process improvements.
  • Track, analyze, and report weekly on plans, status, progress to management and collaborators; drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Build requirements definition, problem resolution, team decisions, and project planning.
  • Follow up with program managers on compliance with processes and tools.
  • Onboard schedules in MS-Project server for program managers.
  • Build automated data gathering and reporting capabilities using data visualization tools.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Canada-based university pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field; AI/ML specialization asset.
  • Knowledge/experience in: software development with interest in program/project management; MS Office (Excel, PowerQuery, Macros, PowerPoint, Word); data visualization (PowerBI); PC architecture; data analysis and visualization; data systems design, governance, and administration; relational databases and SQL queries; Python for process automation; project management or operations management; financial analysis and cost-tracking; JIRA.
