About the role

Analog & Mixed-Signal Engineering internship/co-op at AMD in Markham, Ontario. Full-time onsite for 12 or 16 months, starting May 2027. Focus on design, analysis, verification, testing, automation of analog and mixed-signal technologies within semiconductor products. Collaborative, cross-functional environment with mentorship and real-world impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, verification, testing, and validation of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor technologies.
  • Use industry-standard EDA/CAD tools to analyze, optimize, and verify circuit and layout designs.
  • Develop and enhance software scripts, automation tools, and workflows using programming/scripting languages to improve engineering productivity and design quality.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and present technical data, test results, and engineering findings.
  • Investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with engineers to develop solutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional and global engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field at a Canadian university.
  • Strong interest or exposure with analog, mixed-signal, semiconductor, or integrated circuit design.
  • Fundamental understanding of electronics (transistors, resistors, capacitors, logic gates, circuit analysis).
  • Familiarity/understanding of semiconductor devices, microelectronics, or VLSI design; transistor-level circuit analysis and layout.
  • Programming or scripting in Python, C, C++, Perl, Tcl, SKILL, Shell scripting, or similar languages.
  • Laboratory testing and characterization using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, function generators, or related equipment.
  • Software development, automation, and data analysis
