About the role

Role focused on supporting product development across multiple phases at FATP sites, owning quality for high-visibility products, and developing/implementing quality tools and systems in a cosmetically demanding environment. Primary focus on incoming, process, and outgoing quality with cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, quality, and supplier teams during NPI builds at OEM FATP sites.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Planning: Develop Product Quality Plans (PQP) for the program; evaluate and communicate yield and outgoing inspection quality of new and existing processes; drive corrective actions cross-functionally; develop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools; identify and direct studies for improvements; establish audit procedures per program and supplier to ensure Apple quality standards; collaborate with internal and external groups to define quality expectations and assurance techniques.
  • Contract Manufacturer Quality Management: Assess CM production control and quality programs, identify shortfalls and secure corrective agreement; review PQP with CM and Apple groups to optimize factory quality programs; evaluate CM readiness and adherence to PQP at development and qualification stages; monitor quality performance via production line statistics, inspections, and audits; prepare performance summaries for management.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS or equivalent experience
  • Typically requires proven experience in consumer product process and quality, strong ability to drive corrective actions and perform failure analysis
  • Proficiency in English
  • Knowledge of quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations
  • An area of expertise in a specific process, material, or industry is valuable
  • Project management experience with problem solving tools (e.g., design of experiments, root cause analysis, statistical process control) preferred
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical/EE, acoustics, and ML&AI is a plus (not required)
