About the role

System Electrical Engineer for Mac Development platform electrical & system design integration. Design, implement, test, and debug the electrical subsystem of Apple’s all-in-one Mac products within a cross-functional team including mechanical, software, silicon, wireless, camera, sensing, and display teams.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical design (schematic capture and PCB layout)
  • Simulation, bring-up, debug, and validation for Apple Silicon as it pertains to product implementation
  • Schematic capture and coordinating layout of constrained multilayer PCBs including HDI and fine pitch BGAs
  • Bring-up, validation, cross-functional team support, and multi-disciplinary collaboration
  • Develop domain expertise across various technology areas
  • Coordinate design and validation with software/firmware teams on electrical circuits and communication interfaces

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with industry level practical work experience
  • Strong EE fundamentals with understanding of E&M physics and system architecture
  • Working knowledge of I2C/SMBus, SPMI, SPI, I2S/TDM, USB, MIPI, PCIe, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt
  • Experience with 25 GHz oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, instrumentation amplifiers, protocol decode
  • Circuit design experience across power, digital, analog, high-speed, programmable logic, and/or wireless
  • Experience with constrained multilayer PCBs, HDI, fine pitch BGAs, Allegro or similar PCB tools
  • Schematic capture and constraint-driven PCB layout (Cadence or equivalent)
  • PCB bring-up and debug with lab equipment (soldering, DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
  • Data analysis, data visualization, and script development
  • Strong communication, teamwork, curiosity, creativity, integrity, leadership, and learning mindset
  • Experience collaborating with software/firmware teams on bring-up, validation and test
