About the role

Apple seeks a world-class Supplier Quality Engineer, Display to lead engineering and manufacturing activities to launch next-generation display technologies for Apple products. The role focuses on process and quality improvement from engineering builds to product ramp, with responsibilities spanning supplier quality management, process development, and yield improvement to ensure design and yield targets.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a leading engineer to drive overall quality system development and quality control tool development to deliver scalable product
  • Review product/process design documentation and specification documentation to ensure alignment with process capability and yield target
  • Present timely, concise reports or plans for product yield performance, specification convergence status; drive failure analysis, corrective action implementation plan, and yield bridge to mass production
  • Review supplier’s quality control flow, in-process quality control system, in-coming components and outgoing product’s quality control plan; identify shortfalls and corrective actions to ensure design and yield target compliance
  • Work with supplier process/quality teams to map out process development exercises, secure resources, secure FA to improve yield and commit to schedules in line with program goals
  • Assess supplier’s production readiness to support build events and production ramp; identify potential execution issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risk
  • Ensure processes and suppliers are performing as encouraged during production ramp, immediately addressing issues
  • Monitor supplier’s process performance and yield loss at different process nodes periodically to prevent quality issue
  • Travel to locations as needed to support program goals (up to 25%)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Material, or relevant fields
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in display manufacturing or other display industrial field, including display component and downstream FATP
  • Proven ability to drive vendor in quality improvement; capability to plan DOEs, execute failure analysis and develop yield/quality improvement path
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
