About the role

Senior software development engineer role within Apple’s AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) under IS&T, focusing on building core platform capabilities, high-throughput data pipelines, AI-powered insights, and agentic automation, with end-to-end ownership from feature shipping to production reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build core platform capabilities—from high-throughput data pipelines for business automation to AI-powered insights and agentic automation to user-facing interfaces.
  • Own products through the full lifecycle: shipping new features, triaging and resolving critical production issues, and ensuring operational health.
  • Provide technical leadership on architecture, engineering standards, and technology choices, and partner with product and design to ensure impact on business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years building and scaling production-grade full-stack and backend services using Node.js, ReactJS, TypeScript, and Java
  • Experience with Kafka and Flink for event-driven architectures, real-time stream processing, and distributed systems
  • Experience building AI-powered products, including LLM integration, agentic workflows, NLP pipelines, and intelligent automation
  • Hands-on with cloud-native stack: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
  • Proficient with SQL and NoSQL databases at scale
  • BS in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with microservices, system design, scalability, fault tolerance, concurrency, and performance optimization
  • Solid CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Proven ability to deliver end-to-end product features with a product-owner mindset and focus on user/business outcomes
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clean, scalable technical designs
  • Strong communicator who collaborates naturally across engineering, product, and stakeholders
  • Passion for quality, attention to detail and internationalization
