About the role

Hands-on full-stack software engineer role focused on building and maintaining web applications for operations, employee engagement, events, education, and community. Owns front-end, data layer, build/delivery pipeline, and on-call responsibilities across internal and external audiences in the machine learning communications space. Opportunity to mentor teammates and shape code quality and craft.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of web applications end-to-end, from conception through production and support
  • Build performant, accessible interfaces held to a high bar for quality and user experience
  • Use modern AI tooling thoughtfully as part of how you plan, document, and build new applications
  • Architect and maintain the data layer connecting front ends to back-end services and APIs
  • Design and implement the build, test, and delivery pipeline that ships applications safely and iteratively
  • Make technical decisions independently, choosing technologies, patterns, and approaches that balance craft with pragmatism
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product partners, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Help maintain the health and performance of deployed applications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience shipping and maintaining production web applications with React and Next.js
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience using GenAI when writing code, tests, PR reviews, documentation, and more
  • Hands-on experience with full-stack web development: building front ends, integrating with back-end services and APIs, and understanding deployment and infrastructure concerns
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, work independently, and make sound technical decisions
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong, deep experience with modern React patterns (hooks, context, state management libraries) and Next.js App Router
  • Experience with server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and modern rendering strategies
  • Comfortable working across the stack: databases, back-end services, APIs, and deployment infrastructure
  • Experience building and shipping data-driven front ends against complex back-end systems
  • Expertise in automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end, visual regression)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems, observability tools, and shipping applications safely and iteratively
  • Experience with design systems, component libraries, and accessibility best practices
  • A growth mindset: comfort learning new technologies and helping others do the same
  • Care for the craft of software development, thoughtful about architecture, maintainability, and long-term health of codebases
  • A design sensibility and an eye for performance, accessibility, and user experience
  • Experience mentoring and helping junior engineers grow
