About the role

Role focused on guiding development and operations teams to create reliable designs for Apple’s new technology components, modules, and products. Combines engineering expertise with data analytics to identify high-risk failure modes early in design, drive ORT and FA activities, and improve product design, manufacturing, and testing processes for new Mac products during development and mass production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operations reliability testing and failure analysis throughout the development and sustaining stages.
  • Drive and manage standard methodologies across datasets to improve ORT and failure analysis efficiency.
  • Research and strategically implement system and module reliability testing to continuously improve system quality and simulate field product usage models during the mass production stage.
  • Drive the alignment and transition of reliability testing from New Product Introduction (NPI) to Mass Production (MP).
  • Partner with commodity managers and supplier quality engineers to ensure component quality and reliability.
  • Make data-driven recommendations to improve product design, manufacturing processes, and testing protocols.
  • Strategically identify and prioritize issues found in ORT, leading deep root-cause failure analysis and coordinating cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions.
  • Succinctly communicate technical updates and risk assessments to the executive team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Image Science, Photography, or Cinematography.
  • Extensive experience in consumer product development, debugging, or reliability testing.
  • Strong understanding of general product failure analysis flows, including electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Vietnamese.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk and technical assessment, with a solid understanding of quality control principles.
  • Experience with functional verification and debugging of modular components (e.g., Battery, Main Logic Board (MLB), flex cables, cameras, and semiconductors).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with hands-on experience using JMP, Tableau, or Python.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) logic and prior experience utilizing MES platforms.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and present to diverse stakeholders.
