About the role

Senior Software Engineer role focused on building the ML platform for Apptronik's Apollo robot data lifecycle, including data collection, curation, training, evaluation, and model deployment at multi-terabyte scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build the ML platform — APIs, workers, and control planes for data and models through collection, curation, training, evaluation, and deployment in a self-serve manner.
  • Data Curation & Annotation: turn raw robot and simulation data into training-ready datasets with synchronized sensor streams, annotation workflows, and dataset versioning/li­neage.
  • Data Pipelines at Scale: enable multi-terabyte dataset operations, transformations, quality statistics, and GPU-fed read paths.
  • Simulation & Evaluation: build rollout harnesses for policy evaluation in simulation on GPU clusters; establish benchmarks and metrics across simulation, real-robot, and teleoperation sources; implement automatic qualification gates.
  • Model Promotion: create model store with versioning, metadata, evaluation results, and promotion path from trained to deployed on robot, including packaging (ONNX, TensorRT).
  • Developer Experience: provide experiment tracking, training job submission, sweeps, and reproducible container environments to accelerate research.
  • Collaborate with Autonomy, Data Platform, and TeleOp on dataset/model lifecycle contracts; contribute to technical direction and mentor peers.

Qualifications

  • Built production-scale platform services with deep expertise in at least one of: large-scale data pipelines, annotation/labeling, or evaluation/simulation.
  • Solid cloud and Python skills across the board.
