About the role

Propulsion Engineering Intern to support design, development, and testing of propulsion components and systems at Hermeus, with multiple-term internship options (Spring, Summer, Fall) in Los Angeles, CA. On-site role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of propulsion components and systems from conceptual design through detailed mechanical design
  • Create and release engineering drawings and collaborate with manufacturing teams and external vendors to produce hardware
  • Assist in defining, configuring, and setting up propulsion test rigs
  • Support the execution and documentation of propulsion hardware testing and development activities

Qualifications

  • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects
  • Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate third or fourth year, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program)
  • Strong interest in propulsion systems, design, and testing
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
