About the role

Senior Corporate Accountant responsible for global cash accounting, SOX controls, automation of cash processes, and cross-functional partnership with Treasury and Finance leadership. The role emphasizes scalable control environments, AI-enabled automation, and close collaboration with auditors in a high-growth public company environment.

Responsibilities

  • Global Cash Accounting: Own end-to-end accounting for cash and cash equivalents across a multi-bank, multi-currency structure, including daily activity coding, month-end tie-outs, and cash ledger integrity.
  • Reconciliations at Scale: Own bank and clearing account reconciliations; drive aged/unreconciled items to zero by fixing upstream processes.
  • Payments & Disbursements: Collaborate with AP, Payroll, AR, and Treasury to ensure accurate recording, classification, and cut-off of wires, ACH, card, and FX settlements; maintain hygiene over in-transit and suspense balances.
  • Restricted Cash & Debt Service: Account for restricted cash, escrow, collateral, and letters of credit; support interest, debt service, and covenant reporting with Treasury.
  • Statement of Cash Flows Support: Provide transaction-level data, classification logic, and analysis for the cash flows statement.
  • SOX Compliance & Control Environment: Own key SOX controls over cash, bank reconciliations, payments, and treasury interfaces; ensure audit-ready evidence.
  • Narratives & Risk Control Matrices: Design and maintain process narratives and RCMs; identify and remediate control gaps.
  • Audit Liaison: Point of contact for internal and external auditors on cash and treasury walkthroughs and testing.
  • Controls That Scale: Build scalable control frameworks to support growth in volume, entities, and banking complexity.
  • Automation, Agentic AI & Systems Scaling: Oversee close with FloQast, NetSuite, and other systems; pilot agentic AI for reconciliation, classification, and evidence gathering; design and implement automated bank feeds and treasury-to-ERP integrations.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Align with Treasury on cash positioning and liquidity reporting; collaborate across Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Procurement, Technical Accounting and external partners.
  • Clear Communication: Translate complex cash/banking mechanics for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in cash, treasury, or high-volume transactional accounting within a complex environment (public company experience required)
  • SOX & Controls Depth: demonstrated ownership of SOX 404 key controls, control design, narrative, risk and control management, and audit interaction; experience scaling controls in high-growth environments
  • Technical Mastery: strong US GAAP knowledge for cash, cash equivalents, ASU 2016-18 (restricted cash), ASC 230, ASC 830 (foreign currency)
  • Systems Proficiency: proficiency with NetSuite or other ERP systems, close-management software (FloQast/BlackLine), treasury systems (Kyriba preferred), bank portals, BI/data tools; familiarity with AI-enabled/agentic automation
  • Automation Mindset: track record of shipping automations that reduce manual work
  • Soft Skills: proactive, clear communicator, cross-functional collaborator, curious, agile, problem-solver who improves processes at root cause
